
Pichai Sundararajan better known as Sundar Picha, is an Indian-American business executive. He is one of the chief executive officers (CEOs) of Alphabet Inc., its subsidiary Google and was born in Madurai in India.[4] Pichai received his master's degree in metallurgical engineering at IIT Kharagpur. Moving to the United States, he attained an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He also earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in which he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a material engineer. After a brief stint at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004 and led the product management and innovations for a range of Google's software for clients, including Google Chrome as well as ChromeOS in addition to being in charge of Google Drive. He also oversaw the creation of Google Maps and Gmail. Pichai first introduced WebM in 2010, and also announced the open-sourcing of the new codec for video VP8 by Google. The Chromebook came out in 2012. Pichai, who was responsible for the rollout of Android in 2012, also added Android to the list of Google products.
