Taylor Alison Swift was born December 13 1989. Her discography spans multiple genres. Her songwriting - often in the form of personal reflections--has been praised by critics and received extensive media attention. Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania. She moved to Nashville in Tennessee at the age of 14 to become a singer-songwriter. Swift signed a songwriting contract with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2004 and a recording contract with Big Machine Records in 2005. Her self-titled debut album in 2006 marked Swift as the first female country artist to release an album which was U.S.-certified platinum. Swift's subsequent albums, Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2010), explored the country genre of pop. The latter's "Love Story," and "You Are My Friend," were among the first songs from the country genre that made it to the top of both the U.S. Pop and All-Genre charts. Red (2012) was her first explore rock and electronic styles. It featured her first Billboard Hot 100 number one song, "We Are Never Ever returning Together". She also abandoned her country image in 1989 (2014), her synth-pop album. This album was supported by chart-topping singles "Shake It Off","Blank Space, and "Bad Blood". Exiting Big Machine, Swift signed with Republic Records in 2018 and released her seventh studio album, Lover (2019), followed by the autobiographical documentary Miss Americana (2020).
